Saada for Development Association Celebrates the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2026 by Organizing a Sports Activity for Children with Disabilities in Oued Zem

On the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2026, celebrated this year under the theme “Sport: Building Bridges and Breaking Barriers,” Saada for Development Association organized a sports activity at the Oued Eddahab Center for Persons with Disabilities in Oued Zem. The initiative benefited children participating in the project to improve the education of children with disabilities, implemented in partnership with the National Mutual Aid Foundation.

The event brought together nearly 80 children of different age groups, who enjoyed a day filled with energy, joy, and friendship through a variety of sports games and recreational activities. These activities encouraged teamwork, cooperation, fair play, and active participation in an inclusive environment designed to meet the needs of every child.

This initiative reflects the Association’s strong belief in the vital role of sport in promoting the values of solidarity, tolerance, and equality. As a universal language, sport brings people together, breaks down barriers, and opens new opportunities for children—especially those with disabilities—by enabling them to participate fully in community life while developing and showcasing their skills and talents.

The activity also forms part of the ongoing efforts of Saada for Development Association to promote the social and educational inclusion of children with disabilities. It aims to strengthen their right to participate in sports and recreational activities, which are recognized as essential tools for holistic development, personal growth, and building self-confidence.
